Our Story
The story of MossflowerAbbey Farm began 25 years ago with the purchase of the land and farm house that had once been part of a cotton farm. The land was unused and wooded over and the house and barns in need of work. Here we raised four children, multiple pets, farm animals, and even rescue animals. Always we carried the thoughts of turning the farm into a place where others could enjoy the rural life we loved. The house is always open to visitors and the porch invites guests to relax and watch the sunrises and sunsets. The name MossflowerAbbey came from our children’s and grandchildren’s love of the children’s fictional Redwall books. As we looked for ways to make the former farm land productive again in a way that we could share with others, our young and growing apple orchard was planted. MossflowerAbbey kitchen is a natural accompaniment to the farm that utilizes our love of baking and draws people to the farm. So come, sit on our porch, sample our food, take some home, cherish the quiet and the beauty, and enjoy our country life with us.
